You can probably take out coverage however you want. You have to talk to your insurance company.lets say you had a 700 dollar system can you just get that insured and not have full coverage?
at lease you get thing back in trackYou can probably take out coverage however you want. You have to talk to your insurance company.
Most companies will cover a very limited amount (maybe $1000-$1500) of items that are securely "installed" into the vehicle. Head units, amps that are mounted to the car, etc. Anything loose, like an unbolted box with subs, portable nav system, cell phone, college books, etc etc, aren't covered. Anything over the dollar limit won't be covered, either. I got jacked for about $8k back in October, and I was lucky that the insurance company cut me a check for $1500 (the max at Farmers). Now that I have replaced everything and then some, I have an additional premium that I pay (about $25/month) to cover every single item that I've submitted receipts for, down to the wiring and connectors.
I hope this helps a few people and they go out and get the right coverage if they have a lot invested.
No offense, really i mean that but....your story just seems kinda odd to me.long story short went to the mall with my girlfriend. wasnt even bumping near the mall.. the only time i was bumpin was on the freeyway.. well anyways i parked my car infront of nordstrom in the VERY *&^* FRONT.. and went to the mall for about 15-30 mins then we decided to go eat.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif as i walked out to my car.... and was about to go in.. i notice my deck was gone.. i end up getting very mad and pissed off.. i had a clifford alarm on it.. and have no idea how they got pass it.. to make it worse i popped my trunk and saw that i also got took for my 2 12''JL W7s and 1000/1 amps my backpack full of all my college text books that cost me a fortune.. and even took my optima battery.. took all my gauge wires.. the thing is my amps was bolted down using certain allen wrenchs.. so who ever took it eaither came prepared or knew me.. i mean taking my shiet is messed up enuff but then now u cut my harness for my radio so now its going to be a pain to install another unit.. they also took my paperwork in my glove department.. dont know why.. even TOOK MY REAR SEAT???.. i am stilll fuccin pissed off.. and i have a feeling its a close friend of mine but i will find out.. took me years of saving and going school fulltime to get the system i always wanted and could only enjoy for less then 2 weeks.. by the waythis happen in southcenter mall in seattle, happened yesterday evening.... You make an interesting point but, I think it was either someone he knows, possibly the kid who spit on him, or just random a thief(s). Why I would think that is because its a rich person store and rich people are more likely to have high $ items in their cars thus drawing more attention. From a thief's point of view would you rather break into cars parked out side of Nordstrom or parked out side of salvation army. Its more probable that you would chose Nordstrom.also, how many people shop at nordstrom's with systems? i mean frazier crane doesn't have a system, so who would even bother to target your car?
if i was looking for a system, i'd go to walmart parking lot, not nordstrom's. also, if he's so poor, why is he shopping at nordstroms? You make an interesting point but, I think it was either someone he knows, possibly the kid who spit on him, or just random a thief(s). I don't understand the poor comment the only reference I made to wealth is that Nordstrom is a rich person store.if i was looking for a system, i'd go to walmart parking lot, not nordstrom's. also, if he's so poor, why is he shopping at nordstroms?
he says he can't afford full coverage, and he has so many bills and it took so long to save his money, but he shops at nordstromsI don't understand the poor comment the only reference I made to wealth is that Nordstrom is a rich person store.
You people who think full coverage car insurance covers your system or school books are in for a big surprise if/when your stuff gets jacked.
Check with your insurance companies. If you have a lot of stuff, take pictures, send receipts, and take out additional coverage. Otherwise you will be SOL.
