Headunit=Dead Battery

I have a 2000 GMC Jimmy with the upgraded Bose System. I put in a pioneer cd player and all of the sudden my battery starts to die.

Knowing I installed the cd player correctly, i thought it was something besides audio. I took it to a few shops and they "fixed" the so called problem.

I got a new battery, alt, and fuel pump. Those were the thought to be the problems. Well, the battery still kept dieing and after trying everything i took out the pioneer and put in the factory.

What do u no, it fixed the dieing battery. I Know the Pioneer was wired correctly cuz i checked and doubled checked it many times. It never stayed on or showed power when the car was off. I even diconnected it and the battery still died. So this points to one thing, Without the factory in, the battery dies. Does this mean that I cant put in a aftermarket cd player or does the 100$ Bose Intergration Harness from BB really required and u cant just use a regular GM harness. \

I dont want to go and buy the harnss just to find out that my battery is going to die agian. Will the harness prevent my car from dieing or is something wierd going on with my car(facorty wire burnt or disconnected). It seems like the harness will solve the problem but i just wanted to ask the experts first. Please help, I need bass agian!!

Sorry if this is a lil long and maybe a bit confussing but i hope u get the piont and can answer my question. If u need any more info, jsut tell me and i can provide it. Thanks in Advance!!

Yeah, like i said i checked and doubled checked the wiring. Im not a noob by any means, but i do have sh!t to learn.

I thought the differnce between the 100$ harness and a reg. GM harness was to keep factory steering wheel controls and door chimes. I didnt think it kept your car from deing. I want to clear that up and find out if i really do need the 100$ harness.

Sounds like the integrated amp for the bose system is staying on if you are still using the factory speakers like Punch said. You may have to bite the bullet and get the interactive adapter for the Bose system. Just my $.02.

Yeah, they are still the factory speakers. So getting the harness will prevent the car from dieing?? Like i said i dont want to buy it to find out the car is just gonna die again. Im going to use a LOC for now, but i love the eq and other features on the pioneer, so i want that in! Is there anyway to wire a factory and aftermarket cd player together and if so how?
