headunit/amp problems

hey guys, I have a question or two. I got the sony cdx m630 headunit from santa. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I know it is not the best but it has a hell of a lot of cool enough things for me at the moment. I installed it and all was cool, but my amp doesn't power on with a cd. it works fine with the radio but I don't get **** from the cd. any ideas. thanks

Sounds like ur amp is hooked the power antenna turn on lead. It wont put voltage thru on the power antenna remote wire when your in CD mode. Pull the radio and look for another remote wire.

thats exactly what it is. new cd players have more than one remote. all u gotta do is connect it to the other blue lead.

yeah that is what I was thinking. what I ended up doing is putting the remote wire to the red power wire to the headunit. while this hurt anything. thanks

Your amp will never turn off if u connect the remote turn on lead to a constant 12V. You could drain your battery if it sits long enough. Or is that red wire a switched power that comes on when you turn on the ignition?

it is a switched power source.
