HDTV's Plasma vs DLP.. opinions

Bluray and HD DVD are both 1080p ...
HDTV is 720p or 1080i ...
ahhhh i stand corrected although i thought hdtv was either 720p or 1080i. it's all good i'm picking up my 55" Sony Grand Wega SXRD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. convinced the fiance it was better than the 3LCD so she said ok.

just so you and others know

DVD IS NOT HIGH DEFINITION ITS ONLY 480P

not saying you dont know but just incase i know i didnt know a couple of months back

so what game system do you have? or do you plan on buying the ps3?

if you have teh xbox 360 i recomend getting the hd-dvd add on its 199 comes with king kong hd-dvd and a media remote

im buying one on tuesday since my hd-dvd player broke this week and it will probably take 2 weeks to get it fixed but just incase if it breaks again ill have the add on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

and hd-dvd is superior to anything ive ever seen. cable hd,over the air hd

blue ray can look as good just it seems to be a hit and miss thing sometimes it looks good sometimes so so sometimes crap. they seem to be getting their stuff together but not quite yet. "movie wise"

oh yah blue ray is 1080p samsung $1000 panasonic $1200

the new hd-dvd toshiba xa2 is 1080p also $1000

so is the xbox 360 add on but the add on only has component output no hdmi $199

while both the toshiba and blue ray players have hdmi

but if you can live with 1080i the toshiba is 500 (a1 or a2)compared to blue ray players costing 1000+ besides the ps3 wich is a good deal but its gonna be extremely hard getting your hands on one for a couple of months

and the difference between 1080i and 1080 p is what...???? HAs anyone on here ever even seen the difference to compare
Well, the difference between 720i and 720p is HUGE!

720p looks almost as good as 1080i.

progressive scan makes a REALLY big difference

1080i gives me eyestrain, where 720P looks every bit as crisp and detailed, without the headache, so i would imagine 1080P will be a giant leap compared to 1080i

so hzgood what tv did you buy or still thinking it through? and bumping blazer post some pix //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif dont forget a good audio setup makes movie watching better also.

i got 5.1 but since my hd-dvd a1 player has analog outputs and decodes dolby digital plus and truhd i get that and boy does it sound better then regular dts. at first i never noticed till my player recently broke on monday and ive been watching dvds. thank god for best buy hooking it up today and getting my player back

My dad has a plasma 30" back at my house (I moved out a few months ago) and this picture is 10 times better!!! I love it...Too bad it's a few hundred cheaper now but no interest for 2 years and no other bills besides rent = //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

dont know if you got ur TV yet but i highly recommend the panasonic plasma HDTVs.. i read rave reviews about them. they are BEAUTIFUL quality especially for the price and beat out just about the others in its price range. we got the 50" for 3499.. a little higher than ur budget but i highly recommend it..
