so if you want 1080p then u want something over 50 inches which will not be below 1k...maybe during thanksgiving weekend/christmas but not right now. Plasmas and lcds each have their advantages/disadvantages.
If u want 1080p then that means u are trying to get something with good picture and such but the plasma would provide a better picture by giving it richer colors as well as displaying blacks very well ( movies that show clips at night etc).

But if u are interested in an lcd tv with 1080 look into a monitor instead of a tv as monitors are cheaper ( like a computer monitor...no speakers)
they sell 32"+ monitors?
i dont want plasma cause of burnin. im not dealing with that

yeah that 40 inch from samsung looks pretty good. Its all good some people are just plasma people others just like lcds.

yeah they make 30 inch plus monitors, i had a legit website that had great prices on new panasonic monitors but lost it.

goodluck finding a tv...i know it was fun for me when looking for mine

Well I know you are really set against a plasma, but if you are looking for the best picture quality, you will want one. Burn in is mostly a thing of the past these days. The tvs are made better so they don't burn in and they actually will shift the pixels left and right or up and down every few seconds, but it isn't noticable to the eye, just stops the same pixel color from being displayed in that spot for too long. Plus whitewash, and most waranties from the manufacter will cover it, and deff. most extended warranties will. But if you want size I would go with an "off brand" for example Insignia. They are actually made by LG, just their budget series. Kind of like a vw and an audi. Basically the same, with a lot of the same parts, just a little nicer for a lot more money. I would also consider visio as they are one of the leading makers of LCD displays in Japan, we just don't think of them as a large company here because not a lot of people have them. Other than that look into a sammy or a sony imo.

Plasma is so much smoother. I love mine.

You might want to check out the AVS forums... They seem to have a great deal of understanding about every feature to every TV made today.

They usually give the Pioneer plasmas the nod for the best picture available today and Pani's plasmas having the best price/quality ratio.

For LCD's I would go with Samsung and I wouldn't want a DLP (can't stand the faded color from angles).

Might want to look at this set in the upper end of your price range.

I'm just going to go ahead and correct myself that the Samsungs are actually the tv's with the sharpest picture that I've seen at work. I didn't even see any Toshiba's so I have no idea what I was thinking. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
