Will they give me a phone?

So, I've never bought a phone with a plan before, always pay as you go.

Now I've finally started a full time job and want a plan.

Will I have trouble since I have basically.. zero credit? Will that matter?

I didn't even think of that until my dad mention something about it to me. Now I'm worried.

BTW, looking at the LG Venus right now... anyone have one? Pros/Cons?

I don't even think we have Verizon in Canada? Could be wrong though.

I'd be going with Telus.

Just dont get verizon, make sure telus isnt verizon

also it shouldnt be a problem you might want to bring with a paystub?

only thing they may ask is for a deposit. when i first got one it was a 50 deposit so not bad

My deposit was 300 for one Phone or 250 with 2. Ended up getting Family plan with 2 phones.

That is with NO credit, and holding a job for over a year.

Of course it was Verizon and I am not in Canada.

When you guys say deposit, do you mean over the cost of the phone?

For example, lets say the phone is $79.99 with a 3 year contract, am I paying that PLUS a deposit, or is that what you mean by deposit?

extra $ after the phone

most places will use it if you are late on a payment or whatever. when your contract is over you get the $ back if there was not any problems

Ahh ok, makes sense.

Telus has an offer until July 2nd where I can get the phone for $79.99 on a 3yr plan, IF I add a $15 bundle over the $25 rate plan. But I only have to keep that $15 bundle for 3 months. So basically I pay $45 over the next 3 months, or an extra $120 right now...

Even if I have to pay a deposit it'll still probably be cheaper than the $200 for the 2 year plan.

My credit isn't very good. 640 and I just recently went to get a plan through TMobile. They told me they don't do deposits on their phones, but would have to pay for the phones (Which I got a killer deal being a member of Sams club) and the 1st month payment right away if my credit came back bad.

They ran the check and told me I could do whatever I wanted as I was slipped into their top of the line credit tier. Don't know why, but I am still waiting on my first bill, lol!

Only thing I paid there was 60 bucks for 2 blackberry phones. Simple enough.

Just go there and check it out. Don't have to do anything if you don't want too.
