Hdc3 1600 rms

Looking at getting a 12 hdc with a rubicon 1600. Hdc is only rated at 1000. Obviously aMp won't push 1600 however I'm worried about it possibly being just enough to damage the woofer. Anyone care to enlighten me what amp ur using to push ur hdc if I should be worried or not?

I run my HDC3 on around 1500-2000w rms. You'll be fine as long as you keep the power clean.

do you have any experience setting the gain? You wouldnt have any problems if the system was setup correctly.

with you not knowing how much power that amp can put out cleanly there is no saying on how to set it.. if you you oscoped it then you could tell..

This. Use a -0dB test tone to set your gain and you will be fine.

you need to set your gain to 40volts with a dmm set to ac voltage using a 50 or 60hz sine wave.

just listen to it when it sound bad turn the gain back till it stops..

if you smell it back the gain off..

just make sure you have the electrical for that amp to feed the sub clean power and you'll be fine. I run WAY over RMS with HDC's and have never had an issue...

gain setting is easy people, it doesn't take a electronic device to tell you lower the volume it sound bad..
