high sq sub

I've had a 10" w3v3 in a ported box for a couple of years now. I'm downgrading and want a good sq sub that has a decent range. I don't need something loud either, i mainly listen low to moderate volumes, just want something that sounds good and can give a good hit to the back of the seat when turned up. I was thinking about going sealed 8" w1v2, however people have been telling me about IDMAX and IDQ. My w3 was nice, but it wasn't as tight and clean as I wouldve liked (probably because ported box and maybe tuning). Any advice or recommendation would be greatly appreciated, or if you think the 8w1v2 is a good bet let me know
