ok,at low volume or even at volume 0 I hear a scratchy sound from my sub.can't hear it at mid or high volume only when the music is really low

1)I know it's not my amp because it did it with my old RF power 451s.

2)I think it might be my ground,or the way I hooked it up.only have batt pos. to amp and amp ground to car chassie. Should I ground the batt neg. to car chassis?

I know it's not my rca's because there away from any power wire and there quad shielded.

somebody please help or this problem will never be solved

Is your HU grounded well? I had that issue when I ran the ground from my HU to the ground on my component amp due to noise issues. It went away completely when I ran another wire from the hu ground to the sub amp ground. I'm sure there is probably another way to fix it but that's what did it for mine.

is it a must to have the batt neg. grounded to the chassis
??????????!?

and ur "1)I know it's not my amp because it did it with my old RF power 451s"

doesn't make sense. did u get confused when u wrote this?

I swaped my hifonics amp with my rf power and it still made the same sound.I even switched the speaker to a momo mm12 and it still made the same sound?
