I have a PDX-4.100 powering some Pok SR-6500 components. There seems to be no lack of bass that I can hear. If you're using it to power a front stage set of comps, your speakers will most likely be the limiting factor in terms of low end with the PDX amp powering them. BTW, the birthsheet on mine says it benched at 135W...so consider these underrated. The 1.1000 is probably going to bench at around 1100W.
As far as SQ, my 4.100 puts out a very clean signal. Clarity of sounds is impressive. In terms of dynamics, it may not be the best, but still very good. And again, in terms of sheer brute force, there is nothing lacking. I too was shocked at how small these things are. I'm going to get either a 1.1000 or a 1.600 to power a Polk SR-124 sub soon. Have heard nothing but great things about these. BTW, the guy who I bought my Polk sub from powered it with the 1.1000 (the Polk is rated at 700Wrms/1200peak), and said it was way more than enough. Again, the speaker was the limiting factor in terms of distortion/output, and that SR-124 is a beast of a sub.
