went to go to work tuesday morning and some *** broke my back window and stole my h/u and amp..was an alphasonik pma1000hca and a jensen vm9412left the wiring harness and remote and a mess of glass...when i went out and seen the mess i wondered why in the hell did they leave my brand new 18"blthen it hit me,the factory alarm only will go off when the door is opened so they crawled threw the window and no way the *** was getting the enclosure out..good news is my window was replaced the next day for free and i met with the insurance adjuster yesterday afternoon and they cut me a check for $787.33ayed me for the radio,amp, bezel,mounting kit and $159.00for labor to install the items back in the vehicle...0 deductible and allstate ftw

the $159 is for me just for my time of actually installing it the first time..i have another h/u so i already ordered a new alarm...and i also installed the new h/u with security screws so a 6 in 1 screwdriver will not work again

now all you have to do is wait until you are up to be renewed and your insurance goes up because of it.

Shouldnt matter how they got in. Most stock alarms will set the car off if its bumped to hard. Shattering the back window with the curve in it, should set it off.

its a 01 grand cherokee...not the best factory alarm made..only goes off when door is opened or when key with no transponder is inserted

I got a '99 Grand Prix with a stock alarm and if a basketball taps the fender at all it goes off. Shit if I park it in the sun it goes off if its to hot out. Id definately get a new alarm installed.

update..i went by a local pawn shop called cash converters last week and what do i see on there shelf..my amp...called the detective and he sent an officer to pick my amp up and get the persons info who pawned it..he wouldnt say who but did say it was a guy in my area(like in my apt complex)and he is a scumbag thief that they busted before..im gonna call today and see if the dude gave up the location of my h/u.anyways good news for me
