Funny story I heard while on said turkey hunting trip to Florida..

we were camping beside a fishing/hunting guide who was hunting with a client. He lives in southern florida and had a bear get into his house. Well he got it out and everything. bear kept coming in. He finally called the game wardens and they didn't want to do anything about it. He told them next time it came into the house it was dead. They then decided they would do something. So the biologist and all come to his house and explain to them they are going to "teach the bear not to come around". They gave him rubber bullets to shoot out of his shotgun. Bear comes around, he is supposed to shoot it, and the bear will learn not to come around.

Fastforward 2 weeks and the bear is back in the house (it was coming in through the screen windows). He runs it outside and it climbs a tree. He shoots it with the rubber bullet and IT FALLS OUT OF THE TREE AND DOESN"T MOVE! The rubber bullet had actually penetrated and killed the bear! LMFAO

He said he got his tractor, and put the bear into a cypress swamp to save his ***.

hahah, i used to go to frostburg and we would get an occasional bear in the trash outside of edgewood. go to class in the morning and see signs on the doors saying to watch out for bears //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

aint much turkey hunting around me. of course ive never really looked or went either,

maybe next time your down this way let me know you can hook up and camp whatever on my property look up salt springs florida in google maps i live on lake kerr

I travel 40 which cuts across the Ocala National Forest and I see them from time to time crossing the road.... sometimes from a good distance away they look HUGE!! I dont think I could be as close as you described!! nice shots!

if you travel 40 your familiar with forest road 19 and forest road 88 take either one of those and your practically to my house lol

game warden will not move them just tell you to put up a fence. so i just learn to live in harmony with them just like i do the deer,coons,opossums,panthers,owl,eagles,hawks,rattle snakes etc etc etc

ps rattlesnake, raccon and opossum taste great in a stew i like fried rattle snake the best

frogs legs and deer are my 2 favorites though

theres no blacks mexicans where i live only whites. bunch of racist rednecks keep them at bay and keep are gas stations american owned.

not joking lol salt springs used to be a sundown town way back if you werent white and you were here after dark you were taken across the river and hung
