Makes sense. So i guess the only way is for me to increase the amp gain, or turn up bass boost on the amp?

I know how to set the gain w/ a DMM, im just saying what if its not loud enough (as loud as it was before), after i set it?

Should you turn the gain up after you set it according to the tutorial?

Depends on if you feel like buying another sub.

No, read what I said again... try to find a way to adjust the subout level seperately. This really isn't your issue anyways...

All you have to do is set the gains using the DMM to where they are supposed to be, and it wouldn't matter what headunit you have... your sub would hit about the same.

If your unhappy with the results... then just raise the gains to where you like it, I dunno what to tell you... just realize that you are compromising the reliability (and perhaps SQ) of your sub.

It sounded fine with the Alpine HU, except the speakers sounded terrible with that HU.

Well, for the sub there is a Non-Fader, thats pretty much it. I have the Crossover point set at 80hz.

What could I have changed? All we did was unplug one HU and stick the other one in. Could a wiring error have caused this?

Just got my last and final component in (Eclipse 5444) and my system is now complete, at say i think its perfect. Not only is it the absolute hardest hitting and loudest system I have ever heard, but the sound quality beats the crap out of every setup i have ever heard, just walks all over everything.
HU - Eclipse 5444

Sub - 12 RE XXX

Sub Amp - Nine.1

Front Stage - CDT EF 61 cfi /tw24

Speaker Amp - Nine.2

Did something get changed between this post and the ones where you dont like the sound?

Obviously you ae doing somthing wrong. Do you even get how to set your gains? Volume at the max you normally would listen to it, EQ settings the way you normally listen to it, Use a 40hz test tone...
