yesterday i was looking around in the local gunshop and saw a few m1A1 Carbines.

the 4 i saw were between 400 and 600.

i asked the guy what i needed to purchase a rifle and he said you just have to be 18 and have a drivers license.

seeing as im turning 18 next friday, i wanted to pick it up.

Im pretty set on getting the carbine as it is light and still has a .30 caliber round.

my question is, what is a good price for one?

anything i should look for specifically as far as defects?

I guess it'll be ok for when your at home but what happens when your not and you get jacked? Itll be a waste of money might as well get a lil pump shotty and save til you hit 21.

I have an M1A1 but in all honesty I only shot it a handful of times since it came in to my possession. For that kind of money there are a lot of other "fun" rifles out there. I'm not saying "don't get it", I'm just telling you to shop around before you commit.
