GTR Passive Radiator, need help

Ok Guys system is this:

Alpine IVA-D106R

Alpine H701/RUX

Front Stage:

JL 300/2 CDT M6 U-200 Upstage

Xtant 100/1 Alpine 1/2 Din center Channel

Rear:

JL 300/2 CDT HD6 Memphis Silk Domes, Memphis Passive X-Over

Sub:

Boston G5/GTR 12" 1-cube

JL 500/1

The sub is now tuned to 30-Hrz, Amp Crossover set to LP 70-Hrz Infrasonic Filter to 18, Q 0.70, Center-30 Hrz, boost 4 db

Question, the box gets LOWWWWWWWWWWW, but it seems to fall off quick or sounds a little strange. This is my first passive radiator system, so I do not know what it is supossed to sound like. I had a 10 "L7 in 1.2 cubes 4-Hrz, 2-ED KV11's and 2-ED KV9's. The Boston sounds better then the L7, but not as lets say deep. Would a sealed enclosure work better for me and will it hit when my wife listend to her club crap? I listen to Metallica, Robert Cray, Pink Floyd, Alternative etc.... Or do I start over?

A good way to determine what it is you are missing is to play with your EQ (if you have one). Dial in the sound to the point where you like it and you will know if your weakness is in the subwoofer range or mid-bass.

If you say your sub gets low, then it is doing it's job. Your problem may lie elsewhere.

With the gtr no need to run the subsonic filter on the sub, it will not unload. Play with your eq and lp filter until you get the response you are looking for.

Well, one charcteristic of PR's is supposedly steep rolloff.

How do you have the sub and rad in the box? Mine are opposite each other and in the manual for the gtr they have a couple of different designs that can be used. Not sure if the placement in the box could make it sound different but mine sounds really nice. My box is like the one you would get if you bought the gtuned package.

Yes mine is set exactly like the GT tuned box.
