Greatest Running Back of all time

i think that barry sanders is the only guy i can honestly say that i think would of been great no matter what kind of offensive line he had. he was just amazing to watch play.

most other "great running backs" had an equally great offensive line....but i guess thats why its a team game. each player makes the rest of the team great. kind of like asking was it jerry rice that made joe montana great or joe montana that made jerry rice great?

Doesn't Barry Sanders also hold the record for the most carries for negative yardage? He wasn't a very good team player that's for sure. That's why the Lions never won the big game. lol

i dont care what anyone says, sanders was by far the best. payton had a phenomenal team to help him... lets not forget the 1800lbs of offensive line that carried Emmit smith not to mention playing 22 seasons, and Barry never won a ring because he was the only player on the Lions roster that should have been considered for the draft, I can't think of any pro bowl teammates he had... can you?

Sanders was a East/West runner.

Smith was a North/South runner.

One style of running gets you first downs and wins games, the other leads to consecutive 3 and outs, but the occasional 70 yard touchdown late in the game, when the game is already out of reach.

im no barry sanders fanboy or anything but i mean you cant deny he was great. wasnt he on pace to absolutely crush the record? i think on espn they said he was a couple seasons ahead of the payton pace.

sanders had to run east/west because of his terrible offensive line....emmitt smith had arguably one of the greatest offensive lines ever assembled. you put barry on that dallas team and i cant even imagine the stats he would of put up....

Mike Alstott. He wasn't a 4000 yarder during the season or what not, but you could always depend on him on 3rd and 4 or so...Or first and goal, take your pick! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I was about to say that, Reson8.He was a beast in his prime.

I remember stories of him pulling VWs to train //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
Good job blabbing your mouth about how much you know football...... no rb in the HISTORY of the NFL or AFL has had a 4000 year season... and i am sure never will.

Anywho I was and still am amazed (watching tape) watching Barry Sanders run, my votes with him....
