got the aa assassin 12 installed

Well.. first of all, there is absolutely NO competition between this sub, and the jl12w1v2 i was using.. Night and day difference..

i have the crossover in my orion 4002 set at about 180 hz +/- and i can run the gain at virtually any setting without distortion. it takes everything i have thrown at it and has really impressed me thus far..

i am using a front facing sealed box under the back seat in my 97dodge ram, and the manufacturer claims it has 1.2 cu ft, but it doesnt look that big.. i am gonna calculate it, but there are allot of cuts and juts, so it will be difficult.. however, like i said, it sounds amazing in comparison with the jl, which incidently i just bought the beginning of this month, for more money then this AA 12..

i just wish i would have looked into it first, i was just betting on the quality of JL Audio.. i guess they have gone downhill, cause when i owned my last pair of w1's, back in 95, they were great speakers..

I only got to listen to the setup for a little while today, but so far i am very happy with this sub.. clean, sharp, and low bass..

I'm glad that you like them. Everything I've heard about the Assassins

has been overwhelmingly positive.

My previous sub was an AA Atlas 12 and I liked it quite a bit. The SQ was very good but I craved a little more impact.

My current sub is an Arsenal 12 and I'm very impressed with it so far. It gets WAY louder and hits much harder than the Atlas but still maintains excellent SQ. It goes quite a bit lower than the Atlas but it also has a nice top end if you need it.

I'm gonna throw the Atlas into our secondary HT room.

Yup...shit...nothing, but good reviews and how under rated they are. I bought some...if I cant get them to fit...shit I will use them when I get my new boat...just sold my old one...

i actually bought my box on ebay from kruzinaudio.. it was dual 12 (or10) box that i cut in half cause i am only running one sub.. it fits perfectly, all be it very snug under the back seat. the sub fires forward. the spec listed on the auction said 1.2 cu ft per chamber(but again it could be deceiving, but doesnt appear that large), and it is the same for 12s or 10s, you just specify when ordering what you are gonna use.. it arrived in just a few days and i thought the 99$ shipped was a bargain.. i was initially worried i wouldnt like it, but i am very pleased..

i am now considering a larger amp, simply cause i think the sub can take more then 400 watts.. but i always think i need bigger and better... it sounds awesome just as it is..

i have 400 watts rms now, and it eats it up.. it is a orion 4002... 400X1 @ 4 ohm.. gain all the way up and the sub is clean
