got my mean green alt!

just order directly from their site. you dont need to phone in an order.
by the way. yes thats their number. infact they called me back using that number to answer a question i left on their answering machine during the weekend.

jdawg: do you happen to know if my 98 ford explorer with a 4.0l v6 OHV is regulated through the pcm? been googling around but cant find any info.
Sorry George, I dont know. I only know about GM and Chrysler producs. Im kinda leaning that its in the pcm, not really sure though. How many wires go to it? If its just the wire form the alt to the batt then its internally regulated, if there are some more smaller wires then more than likley its in the pcm. I am sure there are some ford forums you can search around.

yea gotta go with the forums since i looked on google with no real information.

buy yea, i got a connector that is a 1 wire that plugs in, and then another connector about 2" away that has 3 prongs inside. im assuming 1 senses voltage, and the other communicates with the pcm on what to set the regulator at.

Ordered my Mean-Green yestereday. 420 for a special 220 bolt in for my truck best customer service ever. I called and there were no sales people in so I gave em my number they called back like an hour later and were tottaly cool even though I asked about 90 dumb *** questions. Hopefully the alternator will be jsut as good. Wont be here for a month though but ill give an update when I get it.

I was searching for the answer but couldnt find it. so i decided to bump this. I'm getting ready to order my Alt. online from mean-green. Just wondering if you guys ever found out the amps they are putting out? at idle and max. thanks

Wow, not bad. thanks George. Hey i thought you were going to run 2 mags, why you selling yours now?
things are just running through my head. first 2 mags, then 2 bl's, and now thinking about 2 18" bls.

you know how it goes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I'm ditching my dual 15 treos and I'm trying to run a single BTL 15. But then i thought, why not just run an 18 BTL. lol. I'm so freakin indecisive. Good luck with whatever you figure out.

it would be easier if people actually decided to buy my items in the FS section lol. ive compared mine to others prices and im cheaper by a good bit...yet no takers..

well just an update for anyone who cares.
its been almost 2 months and no problems yet.

alt gets a minimum of 300 miles a week put on it.
You're probably not going to have any problems with it; mine has been very reliable. I just wish I would have went with a larger amperage.

the biggest i have seen for my car was a 220 from the well known brands such as h-o and mean green.

dont know where else to go. i am actually trying to get a bracket made for my stock alt so i can run dual alts.

any chance you can do dual alts?
