got hooked up! but too much for Atlas?

so my ebay order came for my kenwood amp, and turns out it's a 1000w instead of the 800w that i ordered...the 800 is 460w x1 so im gonna put two and two together and say the 1000 is more then that...Well my problem is, i was originally planning on ordering 1 15" atlas to run to the 800...would my new amp be too much for an atlas? should i look towards a different 15" sub? suggestions would help a ton thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

make sure your gains are set right and your box is not too big.

Look into getting another atlas, and run 500W to each, that would work out splendid.

Too much. Watch your gains. I know Toxic Tuan was throwing over 1000w sine waves to the atlas but still from what i've heard the atlas gets really iffy above 400w if pushed hard.

It isn't actually 1000 watts,that is a max rating. He said hte 800max one did 460 x1, so say the 1000 max may do 525 rms. You'll be fine.

why not a 15 avalanche. I would think they would handle 800-1000 watts better. Plus they are cheap as hell right now.

avalanche doesn't need 800-1000w to get loud, plus they require much smaller enclosures. Later you can even put a bigger amp on it.
