I live in oakland county, a few years ago I got an mip & was hit up kinda hard. One years' probation; $500 or so in court fines; 10 weekends of WHAM ( in oakland county this is a county regulated community service where you pay them $15 a weekend to do manual labor for the county); random drug tests(only had 1 test though); and 50 hours of community service of my choice. It was my first criminal offense; but I also had a retail fraud on there that was dropped down to disorderly person. That 10 weekends of wham completely absorbed my first summer as a non-highschool student; most people only get 2-3 weekends for misdemeanors.

I am with this guy, when in court say as little as possible don't narc and hopefully people don't narc on you. If they got a case on you you are going down and helping the cops by telling is just wrong and never really helps unless you have very big info and i hope any one who does that (except in maybe a murder of innocenent people case) gets killed.

They let your friend go because by the time they breathalyze him at the station, he'll be sober.

They report your breathalyzer results at the station, not the initial pull-over.

Michigan has a 0 tolerance policy to underage drunk driving or any consumption of alcohol for that matter.... I got my first one a month ago...and luckily I'm able to fight it because the cops illegally searched the place..so right now I'm waiting for my trial, but yeah Michigan blows dick for MIPS. dont feel too bad, every one of my friends has at least one, a couple even have like 5 or 6 which is amazing to me.......

Where I live the cops are duesch bags, so much that I received my MIP in the mail because they played it off like they were letting my friend and I go , and we were just sitting in a backyard at a bonfire. You really gotta be tech when you're dealin with the PO PO these days. I'm against drunk driving 100%, but when they're trying to search your car and you are sober, remember they can't go in the trunk or the glove box or any other compartment without a search warrant.

Bottom line is, if a cop wants to search your car, it's not difficult for him to find a way to legally search your car.

Don't be dumb enough to have shit in your car and cry foul when they find it because you don't think they have the ability to legally search your car.

Well got a **** MIP, were driving home last night and cop pulled us over. Beer was all in the trunk. My buddy driving got an OWI and went to jail. Felt really bad for him. I ended up blowin a .11, been drinkin for 12 hours. My friend Cylan had 4 beers 30 min ago, and only blew a .028...he's also a volunteer firefighter, and the **** cops let him go with nothin. They said he blew too low to do anything, but the law is .02 and above is an mip. Lucky bastard. I even said right in from of the cops, "Wow, just cuz he's on the fire department he didn't get anything?" The cops had nothin to say.
Well I was shooting the shit with the cops, talkin bout ridin sleds and quads earlier. Had me pour out about 45 beers, sayin BUSCH in between the openings:laugh: Cops were cool tho, just seems unfair my one friend got off cuz hes on the department. Was thinkin of bringin that up to the prosecutor.

Well I hear its a $300 fine in michigan and maybe some probation. Anyone know how it goes? It's in Ionia county. Also the **** court date is the day when I am suppose to be on my trip to niagara falls in Canada. Do you think the prosecutor would move the date back a week if I tell him. So you support underage drinking and driving? Why are you so fascinated with me that you now have to come into the thread and single me out instead of the others who said the same things as me? We all know you're a little bitch so i won't even ask if you agree with ratting out a friend.

Well your were being a d-bag to bring that up to the cop right there.Not only that, you were not thinking; you should have left it alone. You

could of brought in your friend as a witness to say he blew a .02 and the cop

let him off at trial.

Even if you ex-friend comes in as a hostile witness you still may get off under equal

protection and application of the law, as long as he tells the truth. If the cops did not

put him in the report, it may be even worse for them.

In other words cops can't pull over 5 people speeding while following each other

and let the cute chick off the hook while ticketing the other 4. The same thing may

apply here.

I'm actually gonna talk to my friend bout that. And yes we are still straight. He understands wtf happened. Hell we've hung out 3 times since, pushed my land and got a couple does.

Maybe I can just have him sign a testimony and show that to the prosecutor? Or could they still give him an MIP from that?

ohh yeah and btw, called the court and it scheduled the court date to Jan 5th, goin to canada it is. Im pretty sure I can still go to canada. Its only a misdeamor, and I'm not guilty till proven. Hopefully there are no probs at the border?
