Good System?

I'm thinking about getting this system for my crown vic.

Subs: 2 Alpine Type Rs 12"

Amp: Hifonics Brutus BXi1608 1600watt

Headunit: Alpine CDA-9884

I have no idea about this stuff really soo..

Can anyone suggest a good ported box for these subs?

you need a run of 1/0 or 4awg wire for power, and one for ground of same or larger size.

you need rca interconnects to go from HU to amp.

you need some 16-18g wire for remote turn on from amp to HU.

Pretty good starter system, you don't need 0/1 power and ground, not enough power for that. 8ga or 4ga max. RCA's and remote turn on wire.

Have someone build a box or research and do it yourself. It will sound much better than a prefab.

yea 8ga is perfect for that system. Ace is right its a good starter system, that head unit is a great unit too, one of the best selling. A box you should deafinitley purchase is a GForce performance box, search them on google. all of them are amazing and they are best boxes i have heard, and they make boxes to your subwoofer. good luck with it!

I have always had good results with alpine products. Also 8awg should be fine unless you know you will be upgrading in the future.

Thanks for the input everyone. But what if I switched to 2 type Rs and switched to a Hifonics Brutus Amp ? Is that a good amp of is it a pieceofsheet?

those brutus' can take a beating. good amp for the money IMO.

i would still go with 1/0 or 4g for wiring. dont bother running 8.

$100 sounds reasonable for wire. no cap, do some reading before you jump into anything.

yes do not run 8 guage i dont know why someone would recommend 8 gauge for 1600 watt amp. just go with 1/0 the first time. knukoncpetz.com you can get a 1/0 kit for 60 bucks. for a box have someone on here build you one. i know the vic has a big trunk so you can get a nice box in there for the Rs to get them loud. i have 2 Rs in 4 cubes on a hifonics 2008d.
