The moisture would still trash the sub.

The room inside kickpanels is inadequate for most midranges...let alone midbass...and definetley not sub-bass.

Why not run a pair of Peerless XLS 8s or Dayton RS225s in your doors IB and cross the subs @ 50hz?

bass is omnidirectional...so staging shouldnt be an issue. You shouldnt be able to detect the subwoofer unless its creating some pretty nasty harmonics (in which case...GET A NEW SUBWOOFER)

There are other ways to do it rather than IB. It all comes down to how hard you are willing to work to get what you want. Fiberglass, expanding foam and the large void in the fender can do amazing things.

If it was an easy install than I might be able to justify something like that, but I dont see any true benefits of installing the subwoofer in front of you that cant be achieved by other means.

Many people have done it with great results (see previously linked install for an example).

Many people have done it improperly with bad results.

It can work, if you're willing to put the effort into it.

Why would you want a Q that low? That would relate to a HUGE enclosure firstly and would make for pretty flabby response. It would be efficient, but power is cheap. Cabin gain is wonderful thing as well that makes a low Q unneccessary in the car.

If you cant achieve that, you're making too many compromises. A nice set of 8s run IB with a properly integrated trunk subwoofer (running a subwoofer infinite baffle on the rear deck would be a better project than placing it up front)
