i have the CVLs on an alpine pdx-5 and the midbass is not much better than a stock pair of speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif however, the highs are nice and detailed

Lulz if you say so. You have to seal the door properly, kill vibrations, and keep road noise out with MLV and CCF.

i've got a set of MB Quart PVI and for the price i'd put them against anything close in price. not sure about how the crossovers are b/c I have them actively crossed via an AC 6XS but they sound nice to me. I've had Quarts for years but these PVI's don't come close to what Quart use to sound like in the Q's.
