good frequency set up

i have a 2000 forester, i will be running component 6.5 i the front with an extra tweeter by the windshield, and 4" components in the rear doors with the tweeters in the c pillars. 2 12 woofers in a box for spl set up. but i have a input level controller for the bass so i can change it from spl to sq hopefully

How many amps do you have and what speakers are they driving.

Oh ok... I'll have 2 amps.. 1 mono for the sub and 1 4channel for the amp. and as far as a crossover i think i might get an active based on what i seen on that link ^^.

but what about the components speakers than? should i just get a mid range and tweeters without a crossover on them???

You have to have crossovers on them. You tweets and woofers are only designed to play certain frequencies. 6.5s usually 80hz and up, and tweets generally 3khz and up. As long as you have those crossed over at those frequencies you should save them from damage. Using a combination of you're head units crossovers and amps crossovers will let you ruin active and give you full control of what frequencies you're drivers play.
