going active, need help with tweeter amp

I am seriously considering going active with my Power CS's. I would be using my Deuce (2x200ish at 4 ohms) to power the mids.

My question is why sort of power should I be using on the tweeters? According to Rainbow's literature the tweet and the mid in my set have the same sensitivity.

At first glance I assumed I would need equal power for each, as they have the same sensitivity, impedance, and power handling, but then others have said 10 watts on tweeter is usually painful.

Looking for responses from people who have or have had active installs.

Active installs don't need drivers to be sensitivity matched because your

signal processor and/or amp has gain controls to adjust the output of the amp.

I would get no less than 75w/ch into tweeters minimum for a normal install.

If you are doing something exotic, you can go much higher. ie , My home install

tweeters are connected to two 3400w amps.

I didn't say they needed to be matched, I said they were.

And I am asking about my specific install - how much power would you recommend for mine based on all the equipment I said I will be using?

azbass - Thanks for the response.

yes i think i might have stated this many times to you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. 50 watts per channel is plenty for a tweeter. you heard my car and it gets plenty loud. i have the tweeter attenuated by 5db. i play most of my music at 28-30/35. my hu doesn't clip at 35/35 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.
