Oh I agree -- at least on their second go around where they actually drilled the hole. That is exactly why I went in and added the grommet yesterday. Roughly cut sheet metal on wire is obviously a bad thing and any instalation shop worth a crap should know better.It isn't the rain I would have worried about. Well, I was not too happy about either result of the faulty installation.And left a bare metal edge next to your wire...
Sorry, but you are wrong. An *** load of water can come through the firewall.there really isn't much water hitting the firewall unless you drove into a lake. the grommets are to protect the wire from the metal edge.
The spot where my factory harness goes through the firewall stays bone dry. Its tucked so far up underneath the cowl and behind the fender that there is no way water is getting there.
