Getting through firewall....

omg You had better search.
Lemans23 had a post reagrding this same Make/Model about 5 months ago.
well just to let you know i did do a search but i couldn't find anything on getting a power wire through the firewall of my year/make/model of car.......so if you could please just answer the question or direct me to that post with a link...itll be more helpful than just saying he did this 5 months ago...that statement doesn't help me now does it? im not trying to be a d**k im just saying peace!

I used the bottom of the huge grommet where the steering column went through the firewall...was enough for a 2awg and two runs of 8ga, at the very least...

Just make sure there's a grommet wherever you use, or if you drill a hole.

hmmm...well you know what though man.....i tryed checking for there too but, mine isn't a grommet its surrounded by something metal. i think im going to take it to an audio shop to have it installed.....i've already done the ground head unit remote and rcas all i need is just this powerwire installed!

I personal drive a 1st gen Altima. I drilled mine paralled with the top of the kick panel and lilttie to the right. It comes out about 4 inches below the brake master cylinder( YOU DONT WANNA DRILL THREW THAT!!)

oh by the way I was checking out the firewall the other night, and i found a place where i could drill its right by where the throttle cable goes through the firewall...although, there is a screw on both sides of the throttle cable, and then on the firewall in the engine bay area there are these things that are apart of the frame that are used to be able to hold the screws in i dunno what they are called....umm..i was just wondering if i can drill thru these...if i can get a picture of them and get it up here i'll try my best too thanks

do this, just make sure there aint nothin on the other side. and seal it with some silicone on both sides if you can.

"Always" use a Rubber Grommet or a Plastic Snap Grommet!!!,whenever you run cables through metal.Better to "Be Safe Than Sorry //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ".I wouldn't want to run the power cables through the steering shaft boot or the clutch boot or rubber.

This part of the install requires *Patience*.Get a friend to help you out.

First check to see if there is a grommet plug in the firewall "before" you decide to drill. If not, look for a suitable part on the firewall(where you can get a drill(preferrably a right angle drill, and there is no moving parts or alot of heat).Have a friend help you.Have him/her tap on an accessible part of the firewall while your in the car with a drop light. You will or may have to pull some carpet back to access this area.As their tapping, try to *feel the tapping action*.If there is nothing in the way.....that may be your place to drill a hole //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And don't forget the "Grommet" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif .

Once you get the cable into the cabin area, also make sure to *Zip Tie* out of the way of moving parts and feet.and to make it "Secure" .*Do it Once...Do it Right*.All the Best with the Cable and Install.Hope this Helps you Altima //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .Take Care.
