getting some work on the saturn done- take a look! *not 56k friendly!*

i think he just added grounds and left the factory there alone
req, where your battery and alt grounds on the strut bolts from the factory? That seems weird.
yep; i made up some 0awg wires with all the stuff, and re-grounded the battery and alternator to each strut post (electricity from amps comes from the trunk? so i figured id ground them closer to that area instead of somewhere up front - specially since the grounds wires are extra short, and the access was very easy) left the stock grounds alone, because every little bit helps, and i have no reason to remove them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

but ill be working on it tomrrow, clean out the inside of the car, get some stuff straightened up in the garage, take a jogg (gotta loose some of that beer belly, im 250lbs, 6'2" - not fat, but could be skinnier, and now taht i got time, why the hell not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and ill be messin around with taht fuse blcok hopefully tomrrow because radio shack was closed by the time i got there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

off to subway for dinner //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

technically, the car is driveable and street legal, but there are still a few more things to do (including the one thing im gonna hate, wiring the door\window kits i got... wich i will do this week)

so stay tuned, ill have LOTS mroe in the next few days. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

how about a thread about req and gcadidas pimping it at reqs house in a week and a half?

how bout that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I don't know req, I've always been told that bolts are a bad place to stick a ground.. But, if it works and you dont' experience any problems then cool

think long and hard about what you just said.

if a bolt is a bad place to put a ground. how the hell are you gonna attach a ground to the car? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

all grounding implies, is another path to the negative battery terminal - the entire metal\frame of the car is connected to the engine block (in some way\shape\form) - the spot i put those two grounds are on the frame of the car (you dont think the STRUT bars are mounted somewhere that has lots of support or somthin? ie : frame.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

so - if i may ask, where would be a good place to ground in your mind mr bean? because ill gladly take a look and see if i can do it like you say //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

as for that being stupid - i think its gonna be lots of fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

if he used a locker on it or thread lock i dont see where or why it makes that big of a deal. in my old firebird we grounded it to the truck actuator mount worked fine for 4 years then out with the old in with the new another 4 yrs still the same spot

Don't tell me what to do!

No, actually I agree with you.. The circuit is going to be completed back through that bolt. I'm with ya......... It just came to me why we frowned upon it in the shop. When doing a customers car we always avoided using a factory part for ground... ie, strut, seat, seatbelt etc. Car manufacturers would tend to not warranty a customers car stating that us (installers) caused whatever to fail.

So, yes I did think. Long, but not hard as to why it's frowned on and there is your answer.

I hope for your sake that adidas is a good house guest!

lol, he is an animal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

na, i see what you mean now, and the bolt isnt the one doing the electricity trafficing - the metal that i grinded down around the bolt will prolly do alot of it too. contact means everything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but yea, i see what you mean now. if somthing broke (ie- the strutbar) for some reason, they could blame it on my stereo install.

makes sense //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks for clairifying that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
