Getting ready to install dual alt bracket

Not to long ago I put a DC 275 in and it's been working like a charm with 1500 watts

Last night I put in four sa-8v2's and dropped ohms from 4ohms to 2ohms on my kx2500.1

Now the alt is getting pounded at idle but will keep up while driving.

I have the DC dual alt bracket for gmc and now it's time to put it in.

Has anyone in here already installed this bracket in a gmc or Chevy? Got and tips or helpful tricks?

I plan on doing this tomorrow. So any help would be cool. Thx

I had my factory alt tested and it was good.

Guess I will run both alts to front battery

Thought about running extra 4guage wire from factory alt to batt and keep the 1/0 gauge on the DC to batt

Guess I'll have to add a extra ground to DC alt when I move it to outside spot on bracket.

That's about all I can think of. Chime in it I missed something

I have the dual alt kit from DC so I should have everything I need in kit.

Not a lot of room for batts. But I'm going to take tens out and maybe I can fit batt there

Also have a saz3500 ready to replace kicker with so extra power will be nice

I have bracket on, both alts hooked up just getting ready to wire it

I only have the redtop up front but I have plans on replacing it

Today I took out tens from behind rear seat. Now I have a spot I can run a extra batt

Going to run the one I got from battery man here awhile back and see how it does

Send a extra run of 1/0 gauge to batt with neg runs and I should be golden

Voltage drops very little now with the two alts and one batt

Worked on putting in the extra battery today after I got off work.

While I'm at it this will be a perfect time to move amps.

Since I have a truck with a solid frame do I have to run ground from front battery to rear battery? Or just ground to frame?

You will never get rid of voltage drops all together unless you have enough batt power. An alt doesn't regulate output fast enough to keep up with transients in music/bass....
I will agree. Got the group 31 in that I got off battery man and no dimming now.

Next step is to replace the weak red top as soon as I can.

No one answered my Q on ground cable so I ran one from front batt to rear. If I hook up the saz3500 ill add 2nd runs if both
