hey guys! i need some info coz im getting my stuff installed. headunit , components,6x9,amp

alpine 9857, jl audio 300/4, alpine type components, alpine 6x9 forgot model. i know its all alpine coz i got good prices w/ this stuff.

what is the usual price on installation for this kind of work?

im also thinking of buying a monster cable kit model:CSB-HPBAP 1000 on ebay. is this any good?

any more info is appreciated. thanks!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah! i wanna learn to eventually install it myself but my friends are useless! LOL!

im asking this coz i dont wanna get ripped off and get a crappy install. im in california. orange county to be exact:D

well in this area.. you are looking at

headunit about 60 bucks plus parts

components about 90 bucks plus parts

6x9 about 60 bucks plus parts

amp about 60 bucks plus parts

these are all base prices and go up depending on difficulty of the install. Since you are running a high amp they will have to rerun your speakers wires to the amp so thats some more labor there. Also depending on how you want the components mounted this could add more labor as well.

plus unless you have all the install accessories all the parts they need to supply you with is going to prolly run you at least 100 bucks.

i went to al and eds today to get a qoute and its around $537 materials included. monster cable 4gauge.

can you guys tell what stuff i need for the set up and any recommendations. i might get it cheaper on ebay. thanks!

$537? thats a little expensive i think? depends on how much work they have to do to fit the stuff. you might consider finding a forum member near you, most guys here could do your install in a few hours for $200. wires n chit should be about $80??

you could go to the store with the $537 quote and say,

"if you can do it for $450 we have a deal"

what kind of car is this going into? for the install you want to do the materials you will need is an amp kit(which i would get from knukonceptz.com) some speaker wire(radio shack) mounting bracket for for the headunit and a wire harness for a headunit, depending on the car you might need some brackets for the speaker. buying materials form al and eds is going to cost alot i'm guessing the amp kit alone is probably around 70-80 dollars alone. depending on the car i might be able to help you with the install i live about an hour away from the oc.

been doing my own installs for 20 years, speakers drop in (45 min) run some power (40 min) hu switch (40 min) misc chit (40 min) beer break 1.5 hours) done.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

the stuff is going in a civic coupe '00. $537 is the exact qoute i got from al and ed. i think i have a wire harness already coz i have a n alpine 9833 on my car right now is it the same harness w/ every HU? thanks for the offer dynamcpunk!

i think 537 is a fair price including parts from a shop as long as they do a very good job at it. They warranty their work im sure so thats always a plus with installs. How did they plan on mounting the comps? They can take an hour by itself easy depending on how you mount them.
