Getting my Hifonics Brutus 2600 RMS Wired up in 3 days...and....

12 gauge speaker wire will be more than adequate for the subs. You could go as large as 8 gauge if you really want to but that is pretty much overkill. And don't waste your money on a cap. Upgrade to a larger battery under the hood and add a extra battery in the back.

can you tell what gauge the wiring that is going to my subs is right now from the videos i posted ? you guys have been great i really appreciate it...

i was very let down when i figured out how to wire it up 1ohm style and then it doesnt work, my car just dims to the extreme (trunk light flashes on and off ) and the subs hardly move.

so i thought either the speaker wire to thin, or my battery to weak.

will getting 1 battery under the hood be enough right now to support the system i am going to get the kinetik hc1800. Also what purpose will the battery in the back serve/how does that get installed and does it run off the origonal alternator up in the front of the car ?

sorry for all thease newbie questions...

You can try the one larger battery up front and see if it works but you will most likely need an additional battery in the rear. The second battery would get wired from the front battery. You would go from positive to positive and negative to negative or you can just ground the rear battery directly to the frame.

the highest power battery i can find anyware in town that sells performance batterys is an :

optima

1200 amp (or somthing)

900 CA ( cold cranking amps)

273.98 CAN $

the battery in my car right now is 600 Cold cranking amps.

OK found a kinetik retailer in town. Going to get the HC1800 hooked up in the trunk today, 375 $ not to bad if it will finally fix my problems.

My stock battery under the hood will remain there, until it gets replaced within the next comming week with that optima battery i listed above, then to top it off i will be replacing my alternator with a bran new fresh 90amp alt.

If all of this still doesnt take the huge load off my electrical system, i will be adding a big 30cap capacitor in the trunk to aid it. Right nowi just have a little stinger one, that was from my 600rms amp.

I have a feeling the electrical should be resolved after all of this. I will keep you guys posted !

NO. Avoid the capacitor. Get the new alternator and second battery. That will be all you need. Possibly a third battery, but I doubt it.

You need to wire it like in the link above to get a 1 ohm load. Notice how the 2 subs are wired together in the last step. You don't have to do that, instead, just run your speaker wires straight to the amp.

it would seem i am going to have to wire my amps in parallel in order to achive 1ohm. What you are seing now is 2x 600 RMS getting nice full power from a Kinetik HC 1800 (witch i must say kicks ***!)

tomarow, i will be going to futureshop to get the wiring to set it up in parallel. Also in this video the bottom of the box is yet to have been put in, it is still just all 4 sides, the top and then strait down into the wheel well. I will be getting the bottom of the box installed ASAP.
