Getting my first system, are these good?

Thanks for the assistance. Are there any good dual 10's that come with an enclosure for around $160 or anything that comes w/ a box since it would be more convenient for me, there are a lot of brands I don't know about it. I'm leaning towards misift suggestions though.

i'm not too sure of any pre-fab enclosures. when i was a teenager i went through a lot of pre-fab enclosures and i have learned from experience its always better to either build one to the specs that the woofer requires or if you dont know how , find someone who does. most if not all pre-fab boxes are garbage. check out the enclosure design section in this forum.

There is a decent shop in P-Cola I went to a few *gulp* years back. But for the life of me I can't remember the name.

The owner of the shop also runs caraudioforum dot com

"Lee" is his name. He can help but he still charges local shop prices //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Intelligent guy though.

Is this amp good with Misfit's subwoofer suggestions? HIFONICS HFi HFI100.4 800W 4 CHANNEL AMPLIFIER+AMP KIT - eBay (item 350334316903 end time Jun-27-10 01:50:51 PDT)
Just in case that amp he recommended is gone by the time I get paid and not able to afford it at retail price.
Don't get a 4 channel amp. That would be good if you were going to be powering a full set of components or your fronts and a weak sub. It will only do 400 watts bridged at 4 ohms, and that sub will take 500 watts rms. Not that it will not work, but you would be better off getting a mono amp if your only worried about powering your sub.

They would probably wouldn't be bad. I like a little more power than that though. Those subs are 4 ohm single voice coil aat 300 watts each. Which means you can only wire them up to a 2 ohm load achieving 600 watts rms. So now you will be looking at an amp that will do 600 watts at 2 ohms.

Note: Most manufacturers power ratings will be max. Meaning perfect electrical in your car at 14.4 volts. For some reason I have a feeling you won't be doing much to your electrical, so getting an amp that puts out more rms wattage that you need is a really good idea. Otherwise your subs will be starving for attention from your cars power.

You might take a look at this wiring diagram to help you make your decision, just enter in the type of voice coils it has and how many and presto, now you know how many ohms you can wire it to and how. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=1

I just noticed shipping on those rockfords is $53. So now your upwards of $200. You should look in the classifieds section, caraudioclassifieds.com or even craigslist locally.
