Getting my car tinted. What shade would look best?

20% all the way around.. here its illegal to go under 35% on the front sides but unless you go insanely dark or just drive to get attention you would not have a problem

frkkevin, your car looks excellent with that shade of tint. I think that has finally made my decision. Ill go with 20% all around.

i love it, not too dark so at night you can still see.. plus even tho it is illegal to have 20% on the front sides its not enough to draw much attention to a cop

ya 20% wont draw much attention especially on a sunny day

not to jack the thread but whats the darkest tint i could get without being pulled over all the time? I have a regular cab truck so only front windows... If anyone lives in iowa input would be appreciated

Get 5% or don't get it at all.

I wouldnt get 5 anywhere, you cant see anything at night.. In AL it is illegal to have tint ANYWHERE on a car unless it is the rear window and you cant have in on an SUV accept the back window and the back gladd above the quarter panel, you cant have it where there are any windows.. Accept the normal 35%

I got 20 all the way around but it kinda sucks because on my mounty I have factory tint and the back is that reflective tint (mirror) far away the front looks darker and up close the back looks darker. It sucks, but I like the 20 all the way around. 5 is to risky, thats just telling a cop you dont care about the laws. And honestly getting 5 is just iggnorant, you will pay WAY more in the future, I have not had problems out of the 20

Your in TX now, its a fix-it ticket man. lol. Would cost me 65 bucks to have my guy take the current off the fronts, and take it up to the courtroom and then take it back to him to put new tint on. If i was going to do it again, id go even darker then i have now because in certain light you can still see in the front.

To each his own though, i just dont like people being able to look into my vehicle, fck the cops, i dont care what they want, if i get pulled over or sit next to a cop at a light, i just roll the windows down, no biggie. Ive gotten pulled over quite a bit since i had the tint, and not one cop said anything about my tint, also all my friends have 5% as well and only one person has gotten a ticket, and that was on a ferry, parked, and a cop walked by and got him.

20% all around if you want it to look best. 35% on front windows is not too bad..looks fine at night and not too bad in day (depending on angle)

Tint ticket is nothing to worry about...just need to remove it within a certain time period and show them a picture and no fine

. After that..put it back up and repeat process
