if they were gonna fire you, they would have waited to change all the passwords //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifI think they got rid of him because he slacked on keeping up with the offices. He randomly stopped in last week, we hadn't seen him in a year, and then a few days later he's gone? That's fishy to me. I think they're realizing shit and they want to clean shit up, quickly. I've gotten a couple more emails about other managerial/assignment changes this afternoon, all from the president.
They never said anything about no laptops, but they said no personal stuff on the internet, so I think it's kind of implied no laptops.
I suspect this is what might happenThis happened to a friend of mine, and they got a warrant for all the files.... that he already deleted...
Now it saved all of his activity on the network to their server... so they already knew what he did
sounds like he was trying to act busy because his boss confronted him about sitting on his *** all day. He probably skipped work and goofed off all the time. Lots of people do that when they get into the higher slots of employment.I think they got rid of him because he slacked on keeping up with the offices. seriously doubt all the ruckus is because you were on your laptop. seems a bit excessiveAlright boss just called...basically said that something is going down here, and he doesn't really know what. Said the president is coming with the new VP, and the MIS (the guy that handles all of the computer stuff). Said they want to go over some put in some new policies and go over some things with us.
This may sound routine to you guys, but I've been here for 2 years...and the president has been here once...and the computer guy has never been here. They live in Minnesota, and we're in NY, so it's not exactly down the block.
He said he's gonna call back again later...there's a lot of shit going on at the main office according to him.
Not to say you want to go through the legal system, but No personal stuff on the internet could mean no facebook/myspace on their company issued computers. Doesn't necessarily imply no laptops. You are in a somewhat good position. Not because you can get fired, but because if you do and this stuff wasn't clearly written down somewhere that you could access, you would easily win the case.I think they got rid of him because he slacked on keeping up with the offices.
