i have a 99 honda accord with the 2.3L I4. the stock alt is only 80amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

if i were to get it re-wound how much more current do you'd think i'd be able to get, and how much would it cost?

thanks for any guesses/estimates.

i'm also calling some local shops, btw. i just want to make sure they don't give me any bogus numbers (output or cost).

well, the local shop got me some info:

2-3 weeks to get it re-wound (send out).

~$250 for the whole thing.

max he would do is ~140amps at 1500rpm.

higher than that and he said it would adversely affect output at idle.

for the price i could just get this:

is there anything bigger available for my car?

is 150amps enough for a 2,000W amp?
