getting a set of components

Hey everyone, I am new to the car audio world and just purchase a new car so why not upgrade the factory speakers! like I said I am pretty new to car audio and don't really have and local stores to go and listen to different makes and models. I thought that I would give the specs and see what you guys recommend! I do plan on purchasing a amp to push these also. Right now I think I want to purchase just the front speakers with the amp but will eventually get some rear speakers also.

specs: I drive a 2008 Chevy Malibu with a Kenwood DDX812 DVD receiver. I like to listen to rock, alternative, and hip/hop. Looking to spend 550 max for a pair of components and an amp.

Yeah need a budget, but I really like either the Pioneer Premier 720c's or their PRS line, which is a little more chedder.

But, I am just pissing in the wind till a budget is brought forward.

Lol, I almost overlooked the price too on the first post. That is a nice budget, This would not include Wires, Accesories correct?

Since you are limited on shops and brands. The best thing is to listen to as many as you can, then let us know which ones you liked and disliked about them.

We can better find a match to suit your needs.

i have some CDT cl61FGs/tw25(silk dome) and a RD audio 55x4 for sale.. very nice set for the money.. smooth rolloff, great midbass, excellent powerhandling.. the set really shines on rock and heavy metal, but it does good on alot of different material..

the CDT set and hte j/l amp is a good combo... why a 4 channel amp? unless you want to bridge it because of space constriants.. i heard the kevlar coned CDTs and the midbass on them sucked.. the FG mids despite alittle breakup above 3.5 are better mids.. same tweeter as the set i have... if you where to grab a pair of the 550i xovers and the clFG comps you will be much better off for the money..
