Gains with speaker level input

Just wondering what typically you set the gains at when you use speaker level inputs on an amplifier.

I'd check the line level input for clipping before anything. If the headunit itself ever clips, then turn it to the highest volume fore clipping, and set your gains there. Then somehow remember to never turn the volume past that point, if at all possible. I don't know about most factory head units, but the vw monsoon radios go into clipping from the factory....

Then set it up like normal.
