If the headunit itself ever clips, then turn it to the highest volume fore clipping, and set your gains there.  Then somehow remember to never turn the volume past that point, if at all possible. I don't know about most factory head units, but the vw monsoon radios go into clipping from the factory....Then set it up like normal.</blockquote>
