i have recently bought the 12" cvx 4dvc and the amp and i have the sub in a 2 cu ft ported box. this is my first setup and i have no idea what the limits of the sub or the amp are. so can anyone tell me how to know if im overpowering or doing something wrong. i just dont want to blow anything. right now the gain is setup a little past half.

drop gain to dead zero.

set volume on 3/4 of the way up or 8/10

move gain knob to match output until you hear distortion. then back off a tad bit.

This should leave you fairly balanced. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

get a dmm and a 50hz 0db tone and play the tone, set the dmm on the amp terminals on VAC and look for the voltage you want... find the voltage formula

sq.rt (watts x ohms)

So in your case if you want 750 watts at 2 ohms, you want ~38.7 volts

that sub will take all the power that puts out. You still need to set the gain to make sure your not clipping the amplifier. I threw 1200 watts to a cvx and it took it no problem.
