excuse my noobx moment but ...

ive always used 60hz @ 0db to set my gains using my handy dmm because thats what i have burnt on my test cd and havnt made another since. i also have a 50hz @ 0db (iirc) on there too , can i use that without ****ing anything up? if so , any reason to use one over the other? wouldnt be equivalent to 60hz @ x db?

if you use a 0db tone, you wont be getting all the power out of your amp. Due to the dynamic nature of music, its necessary to use something more like a -6db tone.
thats all i have on the cd and since the comp crashed and didnt have it on the external HD , im without tones untill i download more. im lazy.

wouldnt 50hz @ 0db put out similar voltage to something like 60hz @ 6db or something like that? i set my gains using the 50hz and it seems to be fine , but i havnt really played it that loud yet...
