Gain Setting

Hello! I just Set My Gains using oscilloscope. If I do the Big 3 or Change my battery, Do I need to set the gains again?

How come I can't set my jl 500/1, Whenever I turn up the gain...the voltage gets lower instead of getting high tsk tsk and the sinewave doesn't fit my portable scope tsk tsk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

What are you considering "up" on the gain? Do you mean going from a lower to higher number on the dial markings thus turning he dial counter-clockwise? If so the reason that the voltage is decreasing is that you are turning the gain down. The markings on the dial relate to the input voltage tht corresponds to that particular gain setting. Comparing a .5V and a 5V input voltage, the gain would be higher for the .5V to make the same output power. Make sense?

With the JL amps you shouldn't need to touch the gain one you upgrade the electricals. The amps power supply keeps everything the same regardless of system voltage.

My other amp is not JL, should I set the gain on it again if I do the big 3?

Sorry for my English...What I meant by turning the gain up is, turning the gain clockwise. I have pocket oscope, I can't set the gains on my JL 500/1, the sinewave's larger than the scope screen and the voltage was unpredictable.
