My Amp bridged is rated at 480 watts RMS x 1 bridged output

My Cerwin Vega Vmax sub is rated at 600rms

So can I pretty much turn the gain up high since its 480rms going to a 600rms sub

Yes. Do it!

easy answer no. set your gains at a worst to what your hu output is. ex: 2volt preout=2volt gain setting.

since your amp can put out over 900 watts fully clipped, no? Set your gains with a -6db test tone.
