I equilized my amp using MM and 50hz test tone, cranked vol until the notch before distortion, and i set everything accordinaly 32hz, and then 100hz, and then bass boost off, but when i get to gains, i set it perfectly, but when i plug sub in to amp, i get bareley any bass at all,util i turn on the baass boost, is that a common prob what should i do---eD NINe 1 AMP 1200 x 1 at 1ohm

have your lpf set? what's your box tuned to?

What kind of test tone did you use? You might have used a 0 db test tone when in reality a -10 db test would be more appropriate for regular music.

box is tuned to 32hz,lpf is tuned to 100hz using a 50HZ test tone(as noted above). maybe my MM battery needs replacment,do u think that could effect the results.

It would be nice to get an answer by tonight,cause tomarro the guy at Tweter is bringin his term LAB equipment and is goin to meter me and my friend. for $15. I want equilize my amp as perect as possible,and im tryin to avoid Bass boost but if i cant then...

Did you follow the gain tutorial to the 't'? Are you sure your sub is wierd correctly? Is there a feature on the amp or HU such as a filter that isnt set properly?

Don't ever use a -10db test tone to set your gains, you end up setting them way too high. Make ABSOLUTELY SURE you are using a 0db tone.

Call eD during regular business hours, they'll be glad to go through the setup of the amp with you.

-10dB tones are perfectly fine. As a matter of fact, that's what David Navone and Richard Clark perfer people to use. It gives you a 3:1 ratio which most people can't hear, also allows you to use upto 30% of your amps power for music. If you set them with a 0dB tone, you'll end up using less than 10% of your amps power for music.
