hey i just wired my idMAX to 1 ohm a week ago. they use to be running @ 4 ohm with gains set to 800 watts. now that it's wired in 1 ohm i set the gain to deliver 1000 watts (31.6 volts) at volume 28 with a -6 db 50hz sine wave playing. i noticed that when i checced the gain yesterday, the voltage read 50 (opposed to the 31.6 it was set at). according to my calculations this is raising the gain from 1000 watts to 2500 watts at full volume. the thing is when i set my gain bacc to 31.6 i only had to turn it a very small millimeter if u know what im saying.. im sure u do. but yea, wouldn't it be pretty **** bad if i dont turn the gain bacc that little millimeter to set it bacc to 31.6? im planning to maybe put some hot glue on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i can tell when it happens becuz all of a sudden my sub is wanging at a lower volume.. which doesnt sound bad but i know if i blast it up to a higher level which i usually do it might be bad for the sub.

Only thing I can suggest would be set the gain with the knob all the way up and dont use a -6 tone.

yeah, if your setting gains it's always a good idea to use a 0db test tone, the entire pont of gain setting is to avoid clipping a 0db test tone may be a bit overkill, but at yu can be confident that you'll basically have to TRY and blow your stuff up to make it break.
