G1 playing through the stereo

Hey, I've got the G1 from tmobile and I've got a question about playing the music on my car stereo. I've downloaded imeem, its a streaming music app that plays music like the radio but better quality. Anyways, I have a kenwood excelon 590 and it has a usb cable for music. I hooked my G1 up through the usb port via the usb cable for the phone but my stereo said it wasn't a good source. Any thoughts on how to do this?

I was thinking about something like that but I don't remember if my deck has inputs for it, its been a while since I've taken it out to look at the back. I have one of those at home on my denon stereo for my ipod and the g1 and it works great. Do you know for sure if the deck I have has an input for that? Thanks!
