Fuse to use??

I am going to be installing my system sometime in the next month.I will be running the MTX TA81001 with a 12inch FI Q.I will be getting the Dual 2 so it will be running @1ohm.THe amp does about 1500@1ohm.I will also be doing the big 3.I will be using 2gauge wire for all (amp power/ground/big3)I will be using a 200amp fuse inline for the big 3 from alt-batt does that sound right?Also what fuse should i run for the power to my amp?It has four 40amp fuses.

I've heard it is best to fuse the alt-batt the same as your factory fuse is, but if you're just protecting the wire, then a 200A fuse would be fine

I found this little guide.I am running the stock alt which is 105amps.So really i would only need a 120amp fuse for the alt-batt????OR should i really run a 150for that and my amp power supply.Since the fuses i found were 120/125/150/175.

Wire Gauge Recommended Maximum Fuse Size

00 awg 400 amps

0 awg 325 amps

1 awg 250 amps

2 awg 200 amps

4 awg 125 amps

6 awg 80 amps

8 awg 50 amps

10 awg 30 amps

12 awg 20 amps

14 awg 15 amps

16 awg 7.5 amps

These are the recommended maximum fuse ratings for the corresponding wire size. Using a smaller fuse than what's recommended here will be perfectly safe.

160 total draw. run a 150 fuse. fuses dont pop at rated amperage. they allow more flow before popping. they can let twice the amperage thru for 5 minutes before they go. be safe and get one a little smaller than total draw.

So i will run a 150 for my amp but what should i run for my alt-batt.

200 is fine. your just protecting the wire from melting really

I will be using 1/0 wire now.Since i found a killer deal on it.
