Fuse ratings...did I get ripped off?

I have a Kole HK1920-2 amp rated at 880W RMS @ 1x4ohms mono with 3x25A fuses (1080W peak??). The amp right under it is the HK1440-2, which is rated lower but has bigger fuses (3x30A, 1300W peak). My question is do the fuse ratings really matter? Did I get ripped off? And where can I get my amp bench tested in Queens/Long Island?

No.

Never use fuse ratings as a way to determine the true output of an amplifier.

You have your max ratings mixed up the HK1920 has 1920watts max. Which is usless regardless, just wanted to let you know. And 75a is plenty for 880watts rms. I'm doubtful on actual power produced but it should be pretty close to that.

So don't really worry about it.

I see where your coming from, amplifiers tend to make about 100ws rms per 10 amps of fusing into 4ohms, but with high efficiency amplifiers the fuse to wattage ratio can be easily exceeded just be weary of amps that claim 1000watts and only have a 20 amp fuse.

yea but sometimes when you look at products, there's just no physical way they're producing as much power as the company claims. for example, autotek and soundstream both have d class monoblock amps that claim to each put out 900w rms @ 1ohm, yet they each have fuse ratings of 40A an 50A respectively.....i just don't see how they're making the power

Once you get into the 2 or 1 ohm territory things get different.
