Fuse Manufacturer Differences

Can anyone explain the reason why different brand fuses of the same amp rating have vastly different element sizes?

For example my Skar 250a anl fuse has a way bigger element than my xs power 350a or even 400a spartan ceramic.

how accurate are these ratings? I'm starting to get into the 8-10k range so I definitely don't want a bottleneck in my electrical and want to stay safe also. Who has known accurate fuse ratings?

Different metals have different melting points. So you can have different size elements for the same blow point.

That being said, their are some cheap no name fuses floating around on the net that are rated completely wrong. I believe that every fuse these companies sell are all the same size fuse, just with different numbers printed on them. Buyer beware.

any thoughts on the skar fuses? they have huge elements, and they are a dollar a piece. They are different size elements between their rates fuses though.
