200 is the most you will ever see, unless of course you clip th s.hit out of it which will damage you subs

Dang that's not cool. I know I'm new to this and everything but why would it only be hitting 200? Would this even be a better choice for my old jensen 200 watt? And what do you mean clip it?

its only putting out 200 watts because that its built to put out, just because something says 1000watts on it, doesnt mean that it will put that out.

you have too look at the actual ratings not the marketing gimic #

and clipping is when you ask your amp to do more power than it can

it starts to send square sine waves instead of the smooth curves that they are supposed to be, when playing square sine waves you woofers do not have time to cool between waves and will eventually fail, you must set the gain on your amp properly or you will go through a lot of equipment,

despite popular notion among ppl new to car audio the gain is not a volume knob.

So you know.

The fuse protects the amp and the wire. That is why it must be close to the power source.. When you short the circuit an excess amount of current will run through the circuit burning the wire, melting the insulation, lighting your car on fire and destroying your amp.
