fuse holder keeps melting

im thinking it was maybe to much for the fuse to handle maybe because thats a grade a ampbut the only thing that i didnt have super tight was the screw that holds the power cord and the ring terminal to the battery.i just screwed it in with my hand

Well there is a cause of loose connection. You will set your car on fire by doing things like that. Loose electrical connections lead to arcing which =bad stuff.

Always tighten connections, also if using CCA that wire is not rated for the current your running through it which again = bad stuff.

IMO you should look into a 1/0 OFC kit or some 1/0 by itself with a 200 amp fuse by the battery then a fused distrobution block with recommended fuse sizes for the amps.

well my subs are 2 ohms and my amp is 1ohm stable and the wire parallel

yeah you know ya stuff man.lolyeah i did get some discoloring way b4 it started melting

i have a 4awg lanzar power wire and i have my system at 1 ohm

If you would like to question my knowledge on this matter I will simply show you my Masters Electrical Liscense and engineering degree. Or would you like to be in one of the electrical apprentice classes that I teach. I dont look at this from Car audio I look at it as an electrician. I am simply trying to give you what to look for since you dont seem qualified to do it but thats not the point. Its better to go bigger than you need than to be too small with wire sizing.

copper clad aluminum ,which is ok if the wire is thick enough to handle the load ,like tommy said

ofc = oxygen free copper, which can handle more current than cca can. I used to melt fuse holders too, but i was using some no named 4 ga wire that was closer to 8 ga on some 1500 watt amp a few years back. Switched the wire out for real 4 gauge and have never had the problem again.
